Yesterday we began the Triodian it goes from pre Lent all the way until the Nocturnes of the Pascha Service. Last night we sang, "Open To me the Doors of Repentance". I find that this is very powerful Hymn that is sung in the Orthodox Christian Church. It makes us look at ourselves and how we need to repent and to look and ourselves how can we bea better Christian? That is what I think that hymn means to me. Next weekend I will be attending the LSS (Liturgical Singing Seminar) and we will be singing for the first time as well, By the Waters of Babylon- that too I may is also a powerful hymn- in my opinion.
